Karen entered volunteer hours onto Excel spreadsheet this morning. Paul sorted out petty cash income being the book donation money, and then updated the blog on the Friends of Birkenhead Park website. Paul then worked on Word Tag Cloud.

Planted anemones, yellow iris and marguerites in volunteer bed. Les and Paul completed laying down the wood chippings in the forest schools area.
EDWARD KEMP GARDEN AND COMMUNITY GROWING AREA Volunteers stained troughs which were donated. They actually contained large rolls of wire netting. The espalier trees and trees near the pedestrian footpath had the grass cleared from the base and a circle created around them. 9 volunteers in attendance.
Carl Davenport Litter Picking. Asked for access to United Utilities compound to tidy up perimeter which is full of litter. At least 20 full green bags. Permission was granted. May need assistance next time. Pruned bushes round Rockery.
Clearing play area of weeds and moss. 3 of us. Pruned hydrangeas by childrens playground. Graham and Will.
Karen undertook invoicing duties for Edward Kemp plots. Paul was checking where we were at with the timesheets for Edward Kemp and Grand Entrance volunteers and sorting them.
Spread wood chippings on the muddy area in the forest schools area. Park dropped off marguerite, anemone and yellow flag roots at the cabin ready for planting next week. 14 people attended.
Carl was litter picking. Not much done due to bad rain and high winds. 12 people attended.
We worked with Anne the Head Ranger, cutting back vegetation near the main entrance to the upper park. Weather was atrocious! We finished the task despite the bad weather. Not many in!
Stock counting in stock room for end of year accounts. Organising stock into batches as required and consolidating location of individual type of items. Paul and Sheila did stock control. Karen updated FOBP blog in morning. Paul completed blog updates and petty cash in afternoon.
