Edward Kemp Community Garden and Growing Area

Another lovely, sunny, spring day and with lots of volunteers enjoying the company, the gardening and the brews! Dan, Mark and Yev removed grass and weeds from a small overgrown plot which is to be used as an education plot. Elleray Park School will be the first group to use it when they start their after school club at the end of April.
Callum, Phaedra and Steve cleared the weeds from the base of the trees on the bank whilst Robbie and Karen cleared the bases of 8 trees on the fruit route. Mike weeded plot one, carefully, so as not to dig out any onions or beetroot that had been planted. Jamie continued with weeding the fruit bed which is looking immaculate. Joe focussed on tidying up the rockery. Steve and Phaedra also helped the YMCA and Arkangel with clearing their plots. Meanwhile, Julian dropped in and offered to develop our Facebook page and set up a Pinterest page as well enquiring about purchasing some honey!
